Mike Marcel, PhD

Mike Marcel was born just outside of Boston, Massachusetts and has been living in the Huntsville, AL area since 2007.  At 17, Mike enlisted in the US Army Reserve and served as a single channel radio operator (31C) in HHC, 187th Infantry Brigade, Ft. Devens, MA.  In 1995, Mike graduated from Norwich University with a Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering and was commissioned a Second Lieutenant, Armor in the US Army.  Mike was assigned to 4th Battalion, 64th Armor, 3rd

Infantry Division, Fort Stewart, GA.  During his time there, he served as a tank platoon leader, battalion liaison officer, infantry mortar platoon leader and headquarters company executive officer.  While assigned as the heavy mortar platoon leader of 4-64 Armor, Mike deployed to southwest Asia to support Intrinsic Action 98-03, Operation Desert Thunder and Operation Desert Fox.

After working in the electronics research and development industry for a number of years, Mike went back to school and obtained a Master’s degree (2004) and PhD (2006) in Electrical Engineering from The University of Alabama, Tuscaloosa, AL.  In 2007, Mike moved to Madison Alabama and has been working in the defense industry in various capacities.

Mike enjoys the outdoors and spending time with his son, Rocky.  Mike’s firearms interests include hunting, skeet shooting, tactical shotgun, defensive handgun, tactical rifle and long range rifle shooting.  Mike is an avid gun collector and enjoys collecting both new and vintage firearms.

Rocky Marcel

Rocky Marcel was born in Hanover, NH and moved to Alabama shortly after he was born.  Ever since he was a little boy, he has enjoyed spending time with his dad at the shooting and archery ranges.  Rocky is an avid archer and has attended and placed at multiple traditional archery competitions.  At a young age, rocky learned how to master shooting a rifle and in 2014 learned how to shoot a pistol at Front Sight Training Institute in Pahrump, NV.  While at Front Sight, Rocky participated in every event during the course (including the live fire simulator), shooting a full size Glock 17.

When he is not studying for school, Rocky enjoys playing Minecraft, Clash of Clans, Terreria, Destiny and Call of Duty on his XBOX.  Rocky is also an avid knife collector.
